Wall Details
I am explaining how adding details to your wall can take your home from plain to pretty.

When we moved into our new home it was all white, except for our Greenblack office. I was craving white. Our first home was in the beige era and our next two homes were in the grey era. This time I was ready for clean and white. I LOVED it. I still do, however, I have started to add a few wall details that have given some wonderful contrast to the all white.

This is for sure my favorite wall transformation I have ever done. It is bold, but doesn't it pop? All the rooms around this dining space are white so adding a bold pattern here works well. The pattern is peonies. The wall paper company is Peel & Paper. I custom colored the Paisley design in the colors ivory and tamara. I chose to do glue but they do have peel and stick as well. I chose glue because I feel it is a little easier to work with on instal but it is more permeant than peel and stick.

This stairwell slat wall was something we had never attempted before. I would do it again. It is more simple than it looks. These solid oak slats are from Weaber Lumber. They are 2 inches by 3 feet. I new this big wall on the stairwell needed art or something and when Weaber Lumber reached out to work together I knew this was the answer.

This wall mural made this walk through pantry. I liked it but it was always missing something. The mural is from Rebel Walls and is called Soaring Cranes in Beige. I chose cranes because every March the cranes come through where we live. It is part of the lands history, so I thought it was extra meaningful.

Painting the walls and ceilings is called color drenching. If using the right color I love to paint the ceiling and wall the same darker color. It makes a statement for sure but I also thinks it looks so elegant. Here is an example of the power of painting walls and ceilings the same color. This color is called Greenback by Sherwin Williams.

The last example is shiplap. I will always be a shiplap fan. It is on our entryway wall and ceiling. Then we additionally added some to our powder bath and painted it. The powder bath is fun because it contains two wall coverings: shiplap and wall paper. I think this combo always works in a small space.
