The Power of Curtains
If you think your room is off or missing something maybe look at the curtains.

To create a beautiful home takes time. There are so many components to each room. I start with furniture selection. It has to fit the space just right and it is usually the most expensive. To save money look for furniture from Amazon and Walmart. I have had a lot of luck for good deals but affordable pieces. I also like to look on Facebook Marketplace. After that you add the details. The accessories are fun and lights are important too. But the final piece are the curtains. They finish off the room perfectly.

Our reading room looked like the far left/top picture when we moved in. The middle picture shows the correct furniture placement and the addition of the media center with a rug added and accessories. We are getting closer to looking really good. The last picture was just the addition of curtains. Can you see the steps and to get the final result? The curtains were the finishing piece for sure. They are Two Pages Curtains in the pattern Linnea Linen Cotton Embroidered in Sand. Use my code: SIMPLYNORTH for 24% off all curtains on their website.

The first picture was taken when we first moved in. The bones are good. The tub, lights, and vanity work great together. However, it is missing something. It is curtains. Isn't it crazy how much they add to the space?! Here I went with Curtarra in Darcy Micro Pearlescent Look in Sandy Beige. I highly recommend pinch pleat curtains. Here these curtains have a slight gold sheen that contrasts with the brushed nickel hardware in a really good way. Use my code for WH20 for 20% off.

This one might be my favorite change. The picture on the left/top is when we moved in. The problems were the desk didn't fit and the ceiling painted white broke up the space too much. The middle picture improved the problems. We painted the ceiling and found a desk on Marketplace. The third pictures is chef's kiss! The built ins for sure add a ton of detail but again the finishing touch is the curtains. These are from Three Girls Custom Curtains. The style is Zen Linen in Custom White.

This was a great transformation too! My daughter's room was cute but the curtain additions finished this space off so well. This time I went HUE curtains. They are called Sally Linen Blend in the color Sea Foam. Again, I always choose triple or double pinch pleats.

The last example, but not least. When we moved in I LOVED white everything. Overtime I am gradually adding color and loving it. The addition of the peony wall paper elevated the space so much. I also sanded and stained the Pottery Barn table and bench to a more black and matte stain finish. Again, though, the addition of curtains and roman shades were the finishing touch. These are also from Curtarra and you can use my code: WH20 for 20% off.
