Our First Projects of 2026
We have decided to build mudroom cabinets and we will also use Roman Clay to make over the two story fireplace.

When we were building our house the quote on this small mudroom space was so expensive. I think because it was all custom so we decided we would build our own once we moved in. I added a Facebook Marketplace bench and called it good for the past four years. We are finally going to finish this space off and I can't wait to bring you along on how we do it.

This is my inspiration picture, but we will paint the cabinets a dark navy like the adjoining mudroom. The seat will also be a natural wood.
This is what we mocked up to build. The space will house all of our cleaning supplies, too. We priced out the wood and it will be around $500 to make ourselves. A lot better than the $3500 we were quoted.

This is our laundry room that is right next to the mudroom. We will be using the same color and hardware.

I am really not 100% sure how this will turn it out. I am working with Portola Paints. I am going with a Roman Clay finish in the color Charleston. I think the added texture and adding in a neutral but different color than white will bring more life to the space.
That's what we have ready to go for the next few months. Follow along to see how it turns out!
