I made a clay leaf dish for the fall to hold matchbooks for lighting my favorite candle. I LOVED it and wanted something similar for the holidays. I decided to make a tree dish and paint it gold. It turned out so good and cost $3. I plan to make more for gifts.

The supplies I used were Crayola Air Dry Clay, a Christmas tree print off, paint brush, and gold paint. I then cut the tree out.

I then use about a handful of clay and roll it to a 1/2 inch or so in thickness.

I placed the cutout tree on the clay and carefully cut around the tree.

Next I placed the cut out dish in a bowl so it has a curve to it to hold my matchbooks. I let it dry for three days.

Once dry I painted it. I then put felt pads on the bottom. That's it!
