How to Make the Popular Pottery Barn Terra Cotta Pumpkins
I found some cheaper pumpkins and painted them to look like the Pottery Barn terra cotta ones. Here are step by step instructions on how I did it.

I really love the Pottery Barn jack o'lanterns but I couldn't justify their price for a season decoration. I was at the At Home store and came across light up pumpkins that looked similar. The best part was the price. I had repainted vases in the past using baking soda and paint mixed together, so I thought I could do the same with these pumpkins to get the Pottery Barn look without the high price tag.

The first step is mixing the paint to look like terra cotta. I used most of all these four paints and mixed them in a cup. The next part is to add baking soda to your paint. I usually use 2 parts paint and 1 part baking soda for my vases but this time I used closer to equal parts paint and baking soda. I did this to make the paint stick better and provide a little more texture. I like how it turned out, and would do that same thing again.
Then I got to work painting the pumpkins. I did two coats. After the second coat I let them dry for about 30 minutes or so and then sprinkled a little baking soda on top of them and brushed the basking soda off and into the pumpkins to create a slight worn, white look. You don't want too much and can just add more if you think it needs it. That was it! Now I have a pretty fall decoration for cheap. Linking all the supplies I used down below.
