Adding the Little Details

I added a few key items to take this Master Bath from pretty to fabulous.

When we moved into our house this is what the bathroom looked like. My husband hung the lights and installed the tub. I stained the vanity and put the hardware on. We spent a few late nights tiling the bathroom shower ourselves. I loved how everything turned out. I just enjoyed the newness of it all. It was clean and pretty. It stayed that way for a long time. I loved it just how it was. Lately, though, I kept thinking the floor is so cold and a little slippery. The window is so pretty but wouldn't it be prettier with curtains? There is no art. Would some art give this space a little personality. The toilet room began to seam plain and sterile in all white. I knew it was time to start adding details. This is also a good reminder that a home takes a while. Sometimes it is good to let a space just be a space. Don't rush filling it until you know what it is missing. Be very international about the decor selections.

The first addition was this stool my husband made. I stained it dark. Then I added this round rug with a backing so it doesn't slide. It gives some pretty pattern and color, but also feels so soft. Next we added wall paper in the toilet room. I worked with Love vs Design. The pattern is Honeycomb Weave in the colors ceramic, sterling, and cement. It has blue and green tints to match the rug, but no match the rug. One is striped and one is floral. I am not a big fan of too much matching. Keep the same color tones but make patterns different.

Lastly, was the addition of some custom curtains and wall art. The custom curtains are from Tailorvibe. I chose Sia Linen curtains in the color Raw White. The header style is French Triple Pleat. Use my code: 40North for 25% off. I then worked with Braid & Wood on this art project. I have the Modern Wall Planters and Pot. I thought it was the perfect last addition to the space.
